Hixson, orphan of William S. Hixson is possessed in his own right of considerable Estate--by means whereof, the power of granting the Guardianship of said Orphan to me is manifestly known to belong--and for the better securing the Estate, and more ample maintenance and education of the said Orphan, and from the integrity and confidence reposed in you, I do hereby commit the tuition, education and Guardianship, of the said Orphan to you, the said Seaborn Hixson (you assenting thereto by the acceptance of these Letters,) herein charging you, that you maintain him in meat, drink, clothing and lodging; that you cause him to be educated in such manner as shall be suitable to his interest and circumstances; and that you enquire into and take charge of his Estate, both real and personal, and all other things do, which by law you ought to do for your said Ward. A true and perfect account of all which you shall render to the Court of Ordinary of said county, on the first term in every year, during your continuance in office; and I do hereby constitute and appoint you the said Seaborn Hixson Guardian of the said Orphan during his minority. In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto officially set my hand and seal, this Twenty-Seventh day of July, 1858. Seal W.J. May, Ordinary. GEORGIA, SCHLEY COUNTY KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS That We, Seaborn Hixson and Daniel A. Morrison acknowledge ourselves jointly and severally bound unto W.J. May, Ordinary of said County, and his successors and assigns, in the just and full sum of Three Hundred Dollars, to the true payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, and the heirs and executors of us, and each of us, jointly and severally, by these presents. Sealed with our Seals, and dated this 27th day of July, 1858. The above bound Seaborn Hixson who was this day appointed Guardian of the person and property of William F. Hixson, Orphan Child of William S. Hixson, deceased, acknowledging of the same by his acceptance of said appointment, and of Letters of Guardianship of this date, shall well and truly maintain, clothe and educate said Orphan according to his circumstances, and shall take good and lawful care of his person and property, according to the laws of this State, and shall annually make a just and true return of all his actings and doings herein, unto the said Ordinary, and pay over all assets that may remain in his hands, when said Guardianship shall legally terminate, then this Obligation to be void, else to remain in full force. That would indicate to me that this was the clerk's copy for recording.) Additional Comments: NOTES: It is somewhat interesting that Seaborn Hixon is the guardian of William F.
