On my recent visit to Schley county, while plundering in a second floor store room, I came across a small, old bound book that was titled "Docket, Justice of the Peace Schley County, Ga., Dist. 946." Dist. 946 is the northern most portion of the county and is referred to in the census as "Nubbin Hill" and later "Patton Hill." This map will give us a rough idea of it size and location. http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaschley/land.htm It would include the communties of Murray's Crossroads, Concord, Beulah and Poindexter at this time. What follows are some selected entries from this JP log. It does not give details of the cases, but list the parties involved, their attorneys if there were any, the court costs and remarks section which was in practically all cases an outcome of the case. This volume covers the period from early 1884 to rougly 1890. The JP was Stephen Murray and there were a series of Constables. I hope you find this unique material of some interest.
