To the Superior Court of Said County.

Petition of Catherine Barber

That Stephen Kent, principal and ...................... ???? W. Cheney, 
security ............................. indebted to your Petitioner in the sum 
of two hundred and fifty two dollars and fifty cents, besides interest on 
promissory note dated on the ?? day of June 1860, and due on or before ????? 
day of January Eighteen hundred and sixty-one ..........
a copy of which said note is hereunto attached, and which said note the said 
defendant refuses to pay.  

Wherefore your petitioner pray process may issue, requiring the 
said .................... personally or by Attorney to be and appear at the 
next ........... of said county, to answer your petitioners complaint.

Eighteen Hundred and Sixty-One, I promise to pay Catherine Barber or bearer 
Two Hundred and Fifty-two dollars and fifty cents for value received.

Additional Comments:
This document is in very bad condition and could not be scanned due it's 
fargile nature.  Also, the ink is badly faded would not have shown up if could 
have been scanned.  The .......'s represent gaps in the paper where printed 
words would have been.  I don't know what county the note may have been 
executed in, but the surname Barber is not known by me in reagrd to Schley 
county.  Welcome add'l info on this.
