Schley County Deed Book A, Page 5 State of Georgia Schley County This Indenture made this ninth day of January A.D. Eighteen Hundred and Fifty-Eight between Jeremiah Wilcher of the County and State aforesaid duly constituted, Administrator of the Estate of Jordan Wilcher, late of said County of State Deceased, of the one part and John C. Albritton of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth: that whereas by virtue of an order granted by the Honorable Inferior Court of Marion County when sitting as a Court for ordinary purposes previous notice having been given of application, agreeable to the Statute in such cases provided. On the fifth day of January 1858 to said Jeremiah Wilcher Admr. as aforesaid to sell one certain Tract of Land belonging to the Estate of said Deceased, situate, lying and being in the County aforesaid known and distinguished as Lot Number Ninety-Three in the Third (3rd) District of originally Muscogee, now Schley County containing in all Two Hundred Two & a Half acres more or less with the rights, members and appertances thereunto belonging. After the said Land was duly advertised in conformity to law, the land was put up and exposed to sale to the highest bidder at the door of the Courthouse at Buena Vista in said County within the legal hours of Sale, on the first Tuesday in January 1858 by Jeremiah Wilcher, Admr. as aforesaid, when said parcel of Land was knocked off to J.C. Albritton at the price or sum of Nine Hundred Dollars, he being the highest and best bidder. Now for and in consideration of the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars cash paid to said Jeremiah Wilcher at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and said Jeremiah Wilcher Admr. as aforesaid hath granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said J.C. Albritton, his heirs and Exr’s, Admr’s and assigns the said lot of land Number Ninety-Three in the Third (3rd) District of said County with all the rights, members and appartenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said J.C. Albritton, his heirs, Exr’s, Admr’s and assigns to his and their use, benefit and behoof, forever in fee simple. In witness when of the said Jeremiah Wilcher Admr. hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal, the day and year above written. Jeremiah Wilcher, Adm. May, Ordinary of said County, James B. Sorrells who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he saw Jeremiah Wilcher Admr. sign and deliver the within Deed to J.C. Albritton for the purpose therein mentioned and that he also saw Van Swearingen sign the same as a witness with himself. James B.
