Schley County Deed Book E, Page 323 Mortgage from J.C. Albritton to Martin L. Harp, June 30, 1862, Fee Paid $353.27/100 By the Fifteenth day of December next I promise to pay Martin L. Harp or Bearer, Three Hundred and Fifty- Five Dollars and Twenty-Seven Cents for value preserved June 30, 1862 Georgia Schley County I know all men by these presents, that I, J.C. Albritton of the County and State aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of Five Dollars, Cash in hand paid, at and before the sealing and delivering these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, as well as for the Letter securing the payment of a certain promissory Note which the said J.C. Albritton, hath this day made and delivered to Martin L. Harp of the County of Terrell and State aforesaid, bearing even date with these presents and to become due on the 15th day of Dec. next, whereby the said J.C. Albritton promises to pay the said M.L. Harp or bearer, Three Hundred and Fifty Five Dollars and Twenty Seven Cents for value received, hath bargained, and sold unto the said Martin L. Harp; the following property to wit: a certain Negro girl, Angeline, about 8 years old, to have and to hold the said bargained property unto the said Martin L. Harp, his heirs and assigns forever, and I the said J.C. Albritton, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, the said bargained property unto the said Martin L. Harp, his heirs and assigns, against myself, my heirs and administrators, and against all and every other person whatsoever, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents, provided nevertheless, that is the said J.C. Albritton, his heirs, executors, and administrators, shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Martin L. Harp, his heirs, and assigns the aforesaid mentioned sum of Three Hundred and Fifty Five Dollars and Twenty Seven Cents on the day mentioned and appointed for the payment thereof in promissory note mentioned, according to the Owner of said Note, then and from thence forth, as well this Bill of Sale and the rights to the Property thereby conveyed as the said promissory Note, shall cease, determine to be void, to all intents and purposes in testimony whereof the said J.C.
