B. Strange reportedly ran a tavern in Tazwell and was a surveyor whos signed plats can be found in records of Upson, Putnam, Marion, Sumter and Schley Co.'s. His son B. A. Strange, b. 18 Nov 1845, d. 19 Apr 1897, buried (CSA marker) Ellaville, Schley, GA, (Company B, 46th Regiment - Schley Rifles}, married Sallie McCrory, b. 3 Apr 1850, d. 19 Oct 1886, also buried in Ellaville. After Sallie's death, their children, Charner, Forrest, Alva, Linton, and Ethel were raised in part by Sallie's brother J. Lee McCrory and his wife Janie Cleghorn McCrory.
