Cheney Dear Friend, I am indebted to the firm of Meadows & Co. for a small amt (amount) of about seventy-five dollars, and expect to be absent for some time and am not prepared to pay them a cent. Burton, father of Ellaville's namesake. Dr. John Newton Cheney was Clerk of the Superior Court of Schley County at this time.
