They appear to be the 1890's . Book of Ellaville Town Ordinances Page 69 Ladder Ordinance Be it ordered, that 30 days from and after the passage of this act, all residents of the town be and they are hereby required to keep a ladder that will reach the eaves of their houses. Be it further ordained that any one failing to comply with above ordinance shall upon conviction be fined by the mayor, the sum of $5 cash. April 4, 1895. Page 69 Ordinance Preventing Persons from Staking Cows on the Public Square. Be it enacted that after passage of this ordinance, no person shall be allowed to stake out cattle of any kind on the public square of the town. All parties violating this ordinance & shall be found guilty of same, shall be fined as is the discretion of the mayor. June 5, 1895. Amended 2-11-07, no cattle is allowed to be tied anywhere in the city limits. Page 71 Be it enacted that from and after the passage of this ordinance and it is hereby enacted by the town council of Ellaville, Ga., that all posters after the expiration of thirty days who are engaged in running a barber shop or shall hereafter become engaged in running a barber shop, shall not be allowed to keep the same open on the Sabbath day. Be it further ordered that all parties violating the above ordinance shall be fined as is the discretion of the mayor. March 1st, 1897. Amended 1908-- to be kept open not later than 10 a.m. Sunday. Page 71 Ordinance Regulating Speed of Bycicles (Bicycles) Be it enacted by the town council of Ellaville, Ga., that from and the passage of this ordinance and the publication of the same for 30 days, that it shall be unlawful for any person to ride a bicycle at a greater rate of speed than six miles an hour within the limit of said town. Be it further enacted that all parties riding bicycles shall when crossing a sidewalk in said town, ride slow and cautiously so as not to endanger the life or limb of any persons, and all persons ??? as what is known as scorching shall be deemed guilty of a violation of this ordinance. Be it further enacted that for a violation of this ordinance, that the party offending shall be fined or imprisoned or work on the streets and/or all in the discretion of the mayor. August 6th, 1897.
