December 12, 1941 77th Congress, 1st Session STATEMENT OF THE MANAGERS ON THE PART OF THE HOUSE The managers on the part of the House at the conference of the disagreeing vote of the two Houses on the amendment of the Senate to the bill (H.R. 1548) for the relief of Mrs. H.C. Bivins, Henrietta Bivins, and Irvin Tatum, submit the following statement in explanation of the effect of the action agreed upon and recommended in the accompanying conference report. This bill as it passed the House provided for the payment of the sum of $1,743.25 to Mrs. H.C. Bivins, of Rural Free Delivery No. 1, Ellaville, Ga., the sum of $105 to Henrietta Bivins, and the sum of $350 to Irvin Tatum, for personal injuries and property damages sustained when the automobile in which they were riding was struck by a truck being used in connection with the Soil Conservation Service in hauling supplies from the quartermaster, district B, Civilian Conservation Corps, to commanding officer, Company 4450, Civilian Conservation Corps, Wewahitchka, Fla. The Senate reduced the amount to be paid to Mrs. H.C. Bivins from $1,743.35 to $1,000. At the conference a compromise of $1,100 was agreed upon. Dan R. McGehee Eugene J.
