Jones, both known to me as reputable physicians of said County, who being severally sworn, say on oath, that they have carefully examined P.Z. Hill and after such personal examination, say that the present condition of applicant is as follows: Was wounded in the left leg in the knee & below the knee by shell which as troubled him every year since the war. Said leg is contracted & ˝ inch shorter than the other. This (unreadable) breaks out every year. The shell (unreadable) the larger (unreadable) of the leg & (unreadable) work (unreadable) (unreadable) breaks out. Was also wounded in the left hand and left arm which has drawn up the 3 & 4 fingers and wracked (?) the arm, And that such condition is permanent. Said condition arises from the following facts: The wound in the left leg breaks out every year & the leg being shorter than the other causes the applicant to hop in walking. Said applicant is enfeebled from said wound. We have treated applicant professionally for thirteen years, and his condition, as above stated, does not arise from heredity of congenital causes, or from vicious or intemperate habits. J.N.
