Wimbish of said state and county, desiring to avail himself of the Pension Act hereby submits his proofs, and after being duly sworn true answers to make to the following questions, deposes and answers as follows: 1. What is your name and where do you reside? Myles W. Wimbish LaCrosse, Schley Co., Ga. 2. How long and since when have you been a resident of this State? all my life. 3. When and where were you born? in Monroe Co. in Feb. 1839. 4. When and where and in what comapny and regiment did you enlist or serve? Schley Guards, 5th Ga. at Ellaville, Ga., 1861. 5. How long did you remain in such company and regiment? Four years. 6. For how long a period did you discharge regular military duty? Four years. 7. When, where and under what were you discharged from service? at the end of the war. 8. What is your present occupation? Farming. 9. How much can you earn per annum by your own exertions of labor? nothing of any consequence. 10. What has been your occupation since 1865? Farming. 11. Upon which of the following grounds do you base your application for pension, viz: first, "age & poverty," second, "infirmity and poverty," or third, "blindness and poverty"? Old age, infirmity & poverty. 12. If upon the first ground, state how long you have been in such condition that you could not earn your support? If upon the second, give a full and complete history of the infirmity and its extent? If upon the third, state whether you are totally blind and when and where you lost your sight? am 61 years old, my eyesight is very poor, and I suffer from kidney trouble. 13. What property, effects or income do you possess and its gross value? None. 14. What property, effects or income did you possess in 1894, 1895, 1896, 1897 and 1898, and what disposition, if any, did you make of same? None. 15. In what county did you reside in those years, and what property did you return for taxation? Schley 16. How were you supported during the years 1897 and 1898? by my sons. 17. How much did your support cost for those years, and what portion did you conrtribute thereto by your own labor or income? very little, say $25.00. 18. What was your employment during 1897 and 1898? What did you receive in each year? Helped the boys what I could. 19. Have you a family? If so, who composes such family? Give their means of support. Have they a homestead? I have no homestead. My wife Missouri F., 1 daughter, Kate, 4 sons of age. 20. Are you receiving any pension? If so, what amount and for what disability? No. M.W. Allen of said state and county, having been presented as a witness in support of the application of M.W.Wimbish for pension under Section 1254 Code, and after being duly sworn true answers to make to the following questions, deposes and answers as follows: 1. What is your name and where do you reside? William Allen at Ellaville, Schley Co., Ga. 2. Are you acquainted with M.W. Wimbish, the applicant, if so, how long have you known him? Yes, since 1861. 3. Where does he reside and how long and since when has he been a resident of the state? In Schley County, ever since I knew him. 4. When where and in what company did he enlist, and how do you know? Ga., Co. G, Schley Guards, was with him. 5. Were you a member of the same company and regiment? Yes. 6. How long did he perform regular military duty, and what do you know of his service as a Confederate soldier, and the time and circumstances of his discharge from the service? Four years, served until the end of the war. 7. What property, effects or income has the applicant? None. 8. What property, effects or income did the applicant possess in 1896, 1897 and 1898 and what disposition, if any, did he make of same? None 9. Has he conveyed away any of his property in the last three years, if so, what was it, and to whom? No. 10. What is the applicant's occupation and physical condition? Farming. His eyesight is very feeble & he is in general poor health. 11. Is the applicant unable to support himself by labor of any sort, if so why? Yes, because he is old, in poor health and very weak eyes. 12. How was he supported in 1897 and 1898? by the family & his own work that he could do. 13. What portion of his support for these two years was derived from his own labor or income? I should think not more than half. 14. Give a full and complete statement of the applicant's physical condition that entitles him to a pension under Section 1254 Code. He is 61 years old, very poor eyesight and feeble from kidney affection. 15. What interest do you have in the recovery of a pension by this applicant? None. William Allen Sworn to and subscribed before me, this the 1st day of Nov., 1899. Phil E. Taylor, Ordinary. AFFADAVIT OF PHYSICIANS. STATE OF GEORGIA. Schley County. Personally came before me B.L. Bridges and ____________, both known to me as reputable physicians of said county, who, being severally sworn, say on oath that they have examined carefully ____________________, applicant for pension under section 1254, Code, and after such personal examination say that his precise physical condition is as follows: Has (unreadable) of urine and his eyes are so he can't see to work securely. He is 60 years old and is not able to do manual labor. We further say on oath that the physical condition of applicant renders him unable to labor at any work or calling sufficient to earn a support for himself, and that we have no interest in said pension being allowed.
