Lindsay Atlanta. Ga. Dear Sir: Herewith find application for pension for Mr. Taylor H. Devane, of this county, as brave and as true soldier as ever volunteered in the cause of the south. His friends have insisted for some time for him to do this but nothing but absolute want compels him to do it. He has a false pride which prevented him from sending in his application some time ago. He is old & in need. Your attention will oblige. His comrades, Mr. Allen, Mr. T.J.Myers, Mr. C.L. Peacock and others of the 5th Ga. say that he never flinched his duty and was absolutely fearlessand that during the entire war that he only had a 15 day furlough. It seems as if it would be a pleasure to grant a pension to such a worthy applicant. Respectfully C.R.
