W. English, who was a soldier in the service of the Confederate States, and served as a member of Company A, of the 11th Battallion Artillery, Georgia Volunteers; that he enlisted in said service on or about the 6th day of July 1861, and was in the Virginia Army up to 30th Sept. 1861. That while in the Army, he was on nthe 15th day of Sept., 1861, That while in the service of the Confederate Army in the State of Virginia, was was attacked, on or about the 15th of Sept. 1861, with Typhoid Dysentery & died of said disease in camp with his company on the 30th of Sept. 1861. He was a sound man & in perfect health at the time of his enlistment in the army. Deponent further swears that she was the wife of said deceased soldier during his term of service in the army, and that she has never married since his death; that she has resided in Georgia continuously since the 23rd day of October 1836; that Georgia is her home, and was such on the 23rd day of December, 1890, and since said date she has not lived in any other state or locality. Deponet, as the widow of said deceased soldier husband, applies for the pension provided by Act of the General Assembly of Georgia, approved December 23rd, 1890, for the pension year ending February 15th, 1892, and herewith tenders the proof of her right to receive the allowance granted by said ACT. AFFIDAVIT FOR THREE WITNESSES State of Georgia County of Schley In person came before me, the undersigned Ordinary, in and for said County, witnesses W.W. Childers, J.N. English, B.P. Hollis and G.C. Dyess (each known to said attesting officer as truthful, reliable and reputable citizens), who severally say under oath, that, from their own personal knowledge, Mrs. Josephine English, of the county of Schley, state of Georgia, is the widow of Wm. W. English, who was a soldier in Company A of the 11th Battallion Artillery of Georgia Volunteers. That said soldier enlisted in the service of the Confederate States (or Georgia State Troops) on or about the 6th day of July 1861. That while in said service, or by reason of said service in the Army, he lost his life as follows: That on or about the 15th day of Sept. 1861, while in the Army of Virginia & with his company, he was attacked with Typhoid Dysentery & died of said disease on the 30th of Sept. 1861 (a space of about 15 days) while with his company in camp. We further swear that he was a sound man & in perfect health at the time of entering the army and we positively believe & know that his death was the direct result of said disease. B.P. Hollis, one of the witnesses wrote ???? this affidavit as follows: He does know of his own knowledge tht Mrs. Josephine English is the widow of W.W. English. He is not acquainted with Mrs. Josephine English, but from the statements of the other witnesses, he is satisfied she is the widow of Wm.W. English. We furher swear that Mrs. Josephine English was the wife of said soldier during the service, and that she has not intermarried since his death, and that she resides in Schley County of the State of Georgia.
