McMickle of said state and county, and after being duly sworn, on oath says that she desires to apply for a pension allowed under the Act of _______ 1910, and submit testimony to make out the same, true answers makes to the following questions to wit: 1. What is your name and where do you reside? Mary A.E. McMickle, Schley Co., Ga. 2. How long and since when have you been a continuing resident in the state of Georgia? all her life. 3. When, where and to whom were you married? David McMickle January 2nd, 1853, Marion Co., Ga. 4. When, where and in what company and regiment did your husband enlist as a soldier in Confederate Army or Georgia Militia? Company H, 59th Ga. Militia 5. When and where did the commands of your husband surreder or discharge from the army? 1865, Appomattox Court House, Va. at close of war. 6. Was your husband personally present at the time of the surrender or discharge of this command? Yes 7. thru 8g. not applicable 8h. Was he captured by the enemy at any time? No. 8i. not applicable 8j. When and where did your husband die? Where you residing together when he died? Nov. 1900 in Schley Co., Ga. Yes. 9. What property of any description did you own, hold or control for your own use and its cash value, Nov. 4, 1908? 258 acres of land $700.00, household and kitchen furniture $50.00, 2 mules, 4 cows & 5 head hoggs $329.00, wagon & buggy $55.00 = Total $1134.00. 10. What property of any kind have yousold or given away since Nov. 4, 1908? What was received for it and what did you do with the proceeds thereof? None. 11. What property of any description of any value have you now? Same as in question 9. 12. What are your annual earnings or income and their value? $200.00 13. Butt who after being duly sworn true answers to make, to the following questions, answers as follows: 1. What is your name and where do you reside? N.B. Butt Buena Vista, Marion Co., ga. 2. How long and since when have you known Mary A.E. McMickle, applicant? No answer. 3. How long and since when has she continuously resided in this state? Don't know applicant. 4. When and to whom was she married? How do you know? Don't know. 5. How long and since when did you know David McMickle, her husband? since 1862. 6. When, where and in what company and regiment did David McMickle enlist? April or May 1862, Buena Vista, Ga., Co. H, 59th Ga. Vols. at organization of the Co. 7. Were you a member of the same company? Yes. 8. How long within your personal knowledge did he perform actual military service with his company and regiment? Til close of war, April 1865. 9. When, and where did his command surrender and was discharged? Appomattox Court House, Va. in April 1865. 10. Were you personally present when it surrendered? Yes 11. Was the husband of applicant personally present at surrender? Yes. How do you know all of this? Was present (unreadable) 12.& 13. not applicable. N.B. Butt Sworn to and subscribed before me this the ? day of Aug. 1910. John ? Butt, Ordinary of Marion County. Georgia Marion Co. Personally appeared before me, the undersigned Ordinary in and for said county, J.W. Jordan, to me personally known, who on oath says that he was (a) member of Co. H, 59th Ga. Vols. and that he was personally acquainted with David McMickle, the husband of applicant, that said David McMickle was member of the same company and Reg. at the organization of the Co. at Buena Vista, Ga. in the month of April or May 186? and that he served to end of war 1865. When the Co. was surrendered & discharged at Appomattox Court House, Va. in Apr. 1865. That deponent does know applicant since 1863, that she is the lawful widow of said David McMickle died in Schley Co., Ga. Don't know the year but some several years ago and that he and applicant were living together as husband & wife, that she has never remarried, and is now his lawful widow. J.W. You are hereby authorized to join David McMickle and Elizabeth Clements in the holy state of matrimony, according to the Constitution and laws of this state; and for which this shall be your sufficient license.
