Roll dated August 31, 1863 , shows he was on sick furlough August 3, 1863. Pension records show he was detailed to conduct prisoners from Petersburg, Va., to Andersonville, Ga., and was accidentally shot through left knee en route near Augusta, Ga., June 28, 1864 ; sent to hospital there June 28, 1864 , and died from wounds August 17, 1864.
