Williams brought a model of his invention to this city yesterday and gave a demonstration of the craft for the benefit of Congressman Charles R. Crisp, who has returned to his home here to await the reconvening of the House for active business. The inventor declares that he has applied a mechanical principle in the construction of his submarine which revolutionizes underwater navigation and eliminates the danger of fatalities to the crews of the submarine craft. In demonstrating his model before Congressman Crisp, the Schley County inventor showed that his craft would always remain upright in the water and would submerge when the side fins and planes had been set in motion. When the propellers cease to revolve, the boat rises to the surface. Williams is preparing a much larger model of his invention and is working on several improvements, planning to go to Washington, D.C. within a short time to offer his ideas to the Navy department.
