Ellaville, Ga., November 26--(Special)--The report recently published from Butler about a mob of about twenty horsemen visiting Justice Murray's house the other night for the purpose of mobbing him, is absolutely false. The facts are as follows: Justice Murray presided with Justices Meadows and Harper in the trial of the case of the state vs. Henry Johnson, colored, charged with the murder of J(ames) H. McElmurray. The state was represented by Solicitor General C(harles) B. Hudson and the defendant by McCrory & Williams. After hearing the testimony and argument of counsel, the judges decided that the defendant acted in self defense. The friends of the deceased indulged in some threats as to the defendant, but no one said anything against the justices. In fact they are as honorable and as upright citizens as ever lived. Mr. Murray is not a citizen of Taylor county, but of Schley.
