ROUNDABOUT IN GEORGIA The Americus Republican says: Mr. Knowlton, of Ellaviile, a very enterprising gentleman, proposes to run a road engine from Americus, through Ellaville and Burna Vista, to Geneva, on the Muscogee road, if the citizens ofthose places will subscribe $6000. The proposition is one worthy the consideration of our citizens, and we hope they will give it due consideration. It will answer all the purposes of a railroad by carrying cotton, freight of all kinds, and passengers. Mr. K. says he can afford to carry cotton to and from any of those points at 50 cents per 500 pounds. He guarantees it will be a success. We have no doubt but the amount asked for can be easily raised. We wish the project success. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.3 Kb
