ELLAVILLE MAN NEAR DEATH AS RESULT OF HAVING DRAWN GASOLINE INTO HIS LINGS.
Ellaville, Ga., May 29.--(Special)--J.B. Williamson, a prominent merchant of 
this place, is lying at his home at the point of death, from pneumonia, 
brought on by his having accidentally sucked gasoline into his lungs a few 
days ago.

Williamson had driven in his automobile to a funeral which took place about 
four miles from this place.  When endeavored to crank up his car to return to 
Ellaville, he discovered that his gasoline was exhausted.  He accordingly 
attempted to syphon enough gasoline from another car to enable him to get back 
to town.

While sucking the gasoline through a rubber tube, the fumes caused him to 
sneeze, and his lungs were filled with gasoline.  The stagulation that 
followed was so violent as to cause unconsciousness.

He was rushed to Ellaville in an automobile and physicians called.  The next 
day pneumonia developed, the course of the disease being marked by profuse and 
frequent hemorages from the lungs.

At a late hour tonight the physicians announced a slight improvement in 
Williamson's condition, and it is now thought he will recover.





Additional Comments:
Apparently J.B. Williamson did recover as he was buried in Ellaville cemetery 
in 1934.  Close call.
