Wall announce the marriage of their daughter, Lois to Charles Chesterfield McCrory at their home at twelve o’clock Friday evening, May 21, 1915. Miss Julia Peacock was elected music teacher for next year by the Ellaville Board of Education. No other teacher was elected as the Board did not know whether they would have local taxation or continue the “stick and dirt” system as usual. After three weeks of continuous service the revival closed at the Methodist church Sunday night, with the reception of twelve bright faced boys and girls who had united with the church. These meetings have meant more to our town than a casual observer would estimate. They have meant much prayer and therefore an uplift to the membership of the church. The school bonds, we learn, were sold to Hilsman & Co., of Atlanta subject to investigation of legality of issue which is now being conducted. If regular bonds will be engraved at once and work on the school building will commence in a day or two. Negro Detectives Visit Ellaville Two negro detectives visited Ellaville this week and seventeen negroes were lodged in the guard house charged with illegal sale of whiskey. All were tried before Mayor E.J. Hart Monday morning and all were found guilty and fined 30 days in the guard house of fifty dollars. Some managed to get up the fifty dollars and were discharged, others appealed to the council and others are still in the guard house. Some of the best Negroes in town were accused and found guilty on the testimony of these detectives.
