On last Saturday the county executive committee met and called the primary for county of officers to be held on March 22, this of course, causing almost a spontaneous uprisal of the various aspirants for county honors, due to the fact that there will be left only about thirty days for campaigning. It is generally conceded that the present representative, J.T. Royal, will stand for re-election, and will be opposed by C.R. McCrary; ex-representative, E.B. Barrow is a candidate for re-election for ordinary; M.D. Herring will stand for re-election to the clerk’s office and will in all probability have opposition for the place in the person of J.M. Murray, an ex-clerk; W.W. Lumpkin, the present sheriff, will have opposition. G.N. Jordan will make the race against him. J.H. Holloway and A.S. Rainey will opposed each other for the office of tax receiver. J.B. Smith will likely be re-elected to the office of tax collector without opposition. There will also be a goodly number of candidates for the office of county commissioner.
