The convention is doing a good work in fostering the schools of the county, as the reports from delegates of the different schools disclosed. A special train was run from Andersonville to Ellaville which brought a large crowd from that place and Americus to witness the exercises. At noon the good ladies of the Ellaville and county schools spread the contents of their baskets on the table in the grove and invited the visitors to participate. The dinner was an elegant one, and judging the crowd by ourself, it was enjoyed to the fullest extent. After dinner the convention reassembled in the Methodist church, where Col. Butt, of our town, delivered an eloquent and appropriate address on the work of Sunday schools, which was one of his happiest efforts (Col. Butt is always happy when talking to Sunday schools) and it was well received; We are indebted to Wm. McCrory and B.A. Strange for courtesies extended during the day.
