Mr. Lon Walters of Schley County, the natural and uncultured artist, has been 

in town this week exhibiting his work.  One of our prominent citizens asked Mr. 

Walters if he would not take an art class here, and the p.c. was astonished 

when Mr. Walters told him that he was not educated in the art – that he had 

never seen a picture painted nor received a lesson – but he could make a crayon 

picture from a miniature photograph in a day’s time, and the likeness would be 

perfect.
