R. Patton and J.F. Woods were elected delegates from the county alliance to the state convention which will be held in Macon some time in August. The Putnam nine have challenged the Buena Vista club and will play them next Saturday at that place. You are correct boys, take in the barbecue. The average candidate doesn’t fail to take in the basket meetings. Who can blame him. The Ladies Missionary Society met in Ellaville last Saturday. Ed McMichael has suspended his school at Dundee near Tazewell on account of his health. We hope he will soon be well. Missses Ada Kiser and Mattie Owens, who spent last week with Miss Eleanor Knowlton, returned home last Sunday much to the regret of their many friends. Miss Mattie Patton who has been confined to her bed is now able to be up. Monie, the five-year-old daughter of Mr. J.G. Collins can say more than most little girls. She has seven living grandparents. Rev. Jack English has been carrying on a three day meeting at Good Hope Church. A basket meeting has been going on for a few days at Corinth church, near Knowlton’s mills and among the ministers on hand was Uncle Jimmie Aperson, who is about ninety years old and is still able to speak for his Master and follow the plow.
