KING AND QUEEN ENTRIES CHOSEN

On Monday, October the 19th, the students of Schley County High received their 
report cards.  They have just about gotten over the shock of seeing their 
cards for the first time this year and things are beginning to settle on the 
home front again.  Many a warmed seat has cooled and things are getting back 
to some semblance of normality.

The seniors have been working very hard on their 1954 edition of The Stinger, 
with two and one half months still to go, the subscriptions have already 
passed last year's pre-ordering sales.

The king and queen of each grade have been chosen.  The students will 
represent their respective grades in the king and queen contest to be held at 
the Halloween carnival Friday night.  The king and queen of each grade are:  
1st-David Smith, King and Edwina Gettys, Queen.  2nd-Charles Dunaway, King and 
Carol Larkin, Queen.  3rd-Ronnie Popiel, King and Virginia Dobbs, Queen.  4th-
Larry Carpenter, King and Nancy Kennedy, Queen.  5th-Burnette Streetman, King 
and Paula Joe Tondee, Queen.  6th-Johnnie Lightner, King and Linda Allen, 
Queen.  7th-Jimmy Tondee, King and Peggy Chapman, Queen.  8th-Charles 
Hardison, King and Marlyn Tidd, Queen.  9th-Bobby Lawhorn, King and Bootsie 
Gleaton, Queen.  10th-Murray McMickle, King and Mima Hart, Queen.  11th-Billy 
Vanlandingham, King and Marie Wellons, Queen.  12th- Burt Strange, King and 
Betty McNeal, Queen.

The junior class announces they are selling billfold size basketball schedules 
for a dime each.  Anyone desiring one of these schedules is requested to see 
any member of the class.
