The flames from the house reached the smoke house, which was also completely destroyed. About half the contents of the dwelling and all the contents of the smoke house were saved. The cause of the fire was supposed to have been from a defective stove flew. The loss is estimated at $2000 with no insurance.-Schley County News. (Note: Mrs. Tison was the dau. of John Childress and Nancy Hammock and the wife of George Washington Tison. Mr Tison was b. 12-1-1841 d. 6- 7-1898. Rebecca was b. 4-3-1842 d. 2-2-1918. Both are buried in Ellaville Cemetery).
