The Schley County News May 31, 1912
WOODS' HOUSE BURNS
Friday afternoon at about four o'clock the Woods' house, three miles from here 
was completely destroyed by fire.  The fire started in the roof and it is 
thought that it was caused by the soot catching from a fire for heating irons 
and setting the roof on fire.  The house was occupied by Mr. George Johnson 
and owned by Mr. Ed Woods of Dawson.  Mr. Johnson succeeded in saving most of 
his furniture.  The dwelling, valued at one thousand dollars, was a complete 
loss.  There was no insurance.

(Transcriber's note:  A subsequent piece in this same issue indictes that the 
home was located in Ebenezer and that the occupant was Mr. G.W. Johnson and 
family.)
