NEGRO FATALLY INJURED BY CAR
Roosevelt Thompson, Ellaville negro, Thursday was at liberty under a $500 bond 
after being jailed on charges made in connection with the death of Moley 
Adams, about 50, also a local negro, who was fatally injured when knocked down 
by a hit-and-run motorist here Saturday night about 8 o'clock.  Thompson 
denied guilt, according to Sheriff E.C. Rigsby.  The sheriff declared, 
however, that pieces of a headlamp found beside the injured negro fitted the 
smashed headlamp of Thompson's car.  Adams sustained a skull fracture in the 
accident which occurred just off the Atlanta highway and died Tuesday 
morning.  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon.  It was the first 
traffic fatality of the year in Schley county.
