J.A. BATTLE Funeral services were held in Talbotton Sunday for Mrs. Kate Smith Battle and one of the few woman Ford dealers in the United States, who died Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louise Coolik. She had many relatives and friends in Schley county. Mrs. Battle was president of the Talbotton chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, a past president of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was long indentified with the affairs of Talbot county. She was a large property holder and one of the county's most influential citizens. When her husband, pioneer auto dealer, died, she took over his business. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Amorette Callaway and Miss Imogene Smith; her daughter, and a grandson, Jonathan Augustus Coolik, all of Talbotton.
