BECKWITH PASSES AWAY E.D. Beckwith, 44, of Atlanta, founder and president of the Beckwith Transport Line and a native Schley countian, died Tuesday at Veterans hospital there. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from Oakland City Baptist church with the Rev. E.E. Eteele officiating. Burial was in West View cemetery. Mr. Beckwith lived at 1246 Floyd Street, Oakland City. Atlanta had been his home for 31 years, He was a member of the W.D. Luckie Masonic Lodge, the Oakland City Ku Klux Klan and the Oakland City Baptist church. He was a charter member of the Fellowship Sunday School class. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Lamar and Charles Beckwith, four brothers, Brutus Beckwith, of St. Louis; Windsor and Essie Beckwith, Ellaville, and Oza Beckwith, of Atlanta, and three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Guy of Americus; Mrs. H.N. Franklin, of Ellaville, and Mrs. Ray Johnston, of Duluth, Minnesota.
