BIVENS DIES IN FLORIDA Funeral services for Mrs. C.C. Bivens, 72, a native of Schley county who died last Wednesday night at Jacksonville, Fla., were conducted from Hopewell Methodist church Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Bivens passed away at a Jacksonville hospital after a brief illness. The Rev. Hugh Dozier and the Rev. W.S. Johnson officiated at the funeral and burial was in the church cemetery. A lifelong citizen of Schley county, Mrs. Bivens moved to Jacksonville with her husband about 15 years ago. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Miss Emma Dell Bivens of Jacksonville; Mrs. Otto Nelson, Ideal; Mrs. B.S. Sellars, Schley county; three sons, H.D. and Joe Bivens, both of Jacksonville, and R.R. Bivens, of Schley county; and 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers were D.A. Snipes, James Owen, McDonald Snipes, J.P. Fouche, A.C. Chapman and C.S. Wall. Additional Comments: (Transcriber's note: Schley Co. marriage records indicate that Mrs. C.C. Bivens was formerly Della Smith, married 9 Jan 1889. Florida Death Index records confirm this and have the speeling of the last name as BIVINS.)
