Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at noon at Blythe Island Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Brown officiat¬ing. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will recieve friends at Chapman Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Joyce Ford Bliss'; his children, Sharon Deal (Michael)of North Augusta, S.C., Michael Bliss (Audrey) of Belton, S.C., Avis Carlin (Steve) of Blythe Island, B.renda Home, (Randy) of Pickens, S.C.; a sister, Mary Jane Poole of Sylvester; 13 grandchildren, 6 great- grand¬children, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Herman and Nora Robbins Bliss, and two sisters, Hermina Daffan and Nora Lee Brunegraff. Active pallbearers will be Scott Amick, Mark Amick, AI Brown Jr., Paul Blount and Johnny Harrison. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Poole, Darrell Poole, Robin Poole, Johnny Heuther, Todd Rogers, O'Neal Bozeman, Tim Finley, Men's Sunday School Class of Blythe Island Baptist Church, Dr. David Suddeth, Dr. Scott Kellogg, Sam and Henry Priest, and Heartland Hospice. A native of Ellaville, he had lived in Glynn County since 1945. He was a 1956 graduate of Glynn Academy, a mem¬ber of Blythe Island Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. He was the owner and operator of Bliss Construction & Millworks. He was a veteran of the United States Army. In lieu of flowers, the fami¬ly has requested donations be made to Blythe ISland Baptist Church Building Fund or Heartland Hospice.
