The Schley County News  Friday, September 20, 1907  
DEATH OF MRS. BROOKS Information reached Ellaville Friday
morning announcing the death of Mrs. Sam Brooks which occured
at her home near Murray's Crossroads on Thursday night.  Her
death was indeed a shock to all as she was enjoying perfect
health up to within a few hours of her death.  In company with
her husband, she rode out in the farm Thursday morning and
about 11 o'clock she began to complain, she returned to her
home and a physician was sent for immediately but in spite of
all that could be done, she continued to grow worse until the
end came about 10 o'clock that night, acute indigestion being
the cause of her death.  Mrs. Brooks was a sister to Mrs. T.J.
Livingston of this place.
