Information obtained Aug. 3, 1952 from an undated newspaper clipping which was undated: Thomas Jefferson Baisden There was buried near Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia, Saturday, a man whose life was remarkable in many ways. Born at Baisden's Bluff, near Savannah, 88 years ago, Thomas Jefferson Baisden was left an orphan at a tender age. Reared near milledgeville he removed to old Lee County about the time the famous Bond's acquired territory after the Creek purchase in the 1830's. By hard work and upright dealing he not only amassed a fortune but won the goodwill of all who knew him. His life was a model of manly virtue and strict integrity, coupled with a benevolent heart that endured him to the humbler classes. He leaves 3 sons: J.A.S. of Atlanta, Z.T. of Greenville, Al and T.J. of Americus; and 3 daughters; Mrs. C.B. Hudson, Mrs.Lucius Dixon, and Mrs. George H. Walker, all living in Schley County.
