Bivins died at his home in this county on last Monday morning. For the past two years the Doctor had rapidly failed in health, suffering from an attack of dropsy, though up to that time he was a remarkably preserved man for his age. He was just entering his seventy second year at the time of his death. Thus Dr. Bivins, there was no more widely known man thru this section, Born and reared in this county and having lived here all of his life, he was thouroughly identified with every period of interest contained its past history. For more than forty years he had faithfully followed his chosen profession, at all times ever ready to respond ot the call of the suffering and in this particular he doubless did more chartiable practice than any man of his age. As a physician the Dr. was reckoned as one of the best in the country; as a citizen , he was appreciated by all for his intellectual worth; as a soldier throughout the civil war, he was held in the highest esteem of his comrades, and as a father and husband he was beloved by a large family.
