CARSWELL, 80, PASSES SATURDAY Mr. James A. Carswell, 80, well-known citizen of Schley county, died at his home in Ebenezer community Saturday night at 8 o'clock, after being in failing health for the past two years. For the past eight years Mr. Carswell made his home with his only child, Mrs. R.T. Jones, and Mr. Jones. Funeral services were conducted at Ebenezer Baptist church, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. H.G. Fowler, officiated and was assisted by the Rev. C.D. Carter. Burial was in Ebenezer cemetery. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Carswell, daughter, Mrs. R.T. Jones, tweleve grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Bob Carswell, of Schley county, General Carswell, of Webster county, and Edd Carswell, of Tifton. A number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives. Pallbearers were Paul Jones, Alex Jones, Edward Jones, Lawton Jones, Monroe Jones, Manson McMickle, and Elmer Stuckey.
