CHAPMAN PASSES IN MACON Last tribute was paid John T. Chapman, 36, a former Schley countian, at a brief graveside service at Tazewell Sunday afternoon with the Rev. J. Whitley of Mauk in charge. Mr. Chapman died in a Macon hospital Saturday morning after an illness of three weeks. Funeral services were conducted in Macon from the chapel of Burghard-Connally, with the Rev. B.D. Ragsdale officiating. Born in Marion county, July 23, 1904, he spent much of his boyhood in Schley county and has many friends here. Fourteen years ago he moved to Macon. He was a telegraph operator for Central of Georgia railway for many years, and was a well-known Mason. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.N. Chapman, prominent residents of Concord community; a sister, Mrs. B.H. Tucker, Wichita, Kansas; seven brothers, Chester G., L.P. and L.H. Chapman, all of Macon; G.W. Chapman, Albany; Elton Chapman, Waveland, Miss. The latter six were pallbearers.
