Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 24 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Goggins Funeral Home in Thomaston with Rev. Roy Peterson officiating, burial followed inn the Southview Cemetery. Mrs. Cochran was born on November 6, 1925 in Sumter County, GA to the late Steven and Samantha Holston. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughters: Mrs. Mable Lane n(Forrest), Mrs. Doris Bryan (Donnie), both of Buena Vista, GA, Mrs. Alisha Steed of Thomaston, GA; two sons: Mr. Grady Steve Cochran (Debra) and Mr. Thomas Cochran (Terri) both of Thomaston, GA; sister, Mrs. Sina Rae Eubanks of Thomaston, GA; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren also survive. Visitation was held Monday November 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Goggins Funeral Home. Goggins Funeral home of Thomaston, Georgia was in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: I happened to note an obituary in the Tri-County Journal, Nov. 24 edition. It was for Jessie Mae Holston Cochran of Thomaston. The obituary is transcribed below. Jessie Mae was the granddaughter of a Civil War veteran, Jasper Holston, private, Co. G, 5th Ga. Infantry, AKA "The Schley Guards." He enlisted May 11, 1861 in the first company formed in Schley county and the first to march off to war. His commander was Captain Robt.
