COLLINS, NATIVE OF SCHLEY Funeral services for Haynes S. Collins, 49, widely-known retired baking executive of Atlanta and Miami and a member of a family long prominent in this section, will be conducted at Buena Vista Methodist church this morning (Friday) at 11 o'clock with the pastor, the Rev. Allen B. Wall, officiating. He was a native of Ellaville. Mr. Collins died of a heart ailment Wednesday night at 11 o'clock at his home in Buena Vista. He had been seriously ill for the past few weeks. Burial will be in Ellaville cemetery. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom A. Collins, of Ellaville, Mr. Collins was a star pitcher on the baseball team in his youth, when the sport flourished here. He was associated with his brothers, Harry, Lewis and Earle Collins, in the Collins Baking company chain, living in Atlanta and Miami until poor health forced his retirement about five years ago. Survivors include his widow, the former Miss Lillie Mae Bradley, Buena Vista; one daughter, Lillie Haynes Collins, Buena Vista; three brothers, Harry Collins, Ellaville; Lewis Collins and Earle Collins, Dothan, Ala.; his stepmother, Mrs. Patty Collins, Ellaville; three aunts, Miss Julia Peacock, Mrs. John Cheney, both of Ellaville, and Mrs. Aldine McGowan, Atlanta; and uncle Harry Peacock, Ellaville. Seven pallbearers had been selected late Thursday. They were Horace Clements, Tom Hollis, Will Melton, Frank Rees, Clark Williamson, H. Willis Hogg and Harry F. Dixon.
