G.P. DEWOLFE, 75, PASSES MONDAY Mrs. Gilbert P. DeWolfe, 75, beloved citizen at Andrew Chapel community, died of a heart attack at her home Monday morning about 9:30 o'clock after an illness of ten days. Funeral services were held at the residence Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. Roy J. Bond officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery beside the grave of her husband. Born in Schley county, August 7, 1866, she was Miss Leila Hornady, daughter of Dr. Albert and Sarah Greene Hornady, prominent citizens of the community. Sixteen years of her life were spent in Mexico where Mr. DeWolfe was a civil engineer. A member of Andrew Chapel Methodist church, she was active in the Missionary Society. She was a past president of the Sara E. Hornady chapter of United daughters of the Confederacy and a life member of Habersham chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Atlanta. Her passing saddened many friends, who revered her influence upon the religious and cultural life of the community. Surviving are a sister, Miss Mary Hornady; a niece, Mrs. John Gilchrist, of Tifton, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. E.B. Hornady. Cousins served as pallbearers. They were: C.B. Strange, C.H. Greene, C.C. Williamson, L.S. Tondee, R.S. Greene and R.H. Strange.
