DeVane on last Monday morning and laid lands upon his beloved wife, Mrs Polly DeVane. While she had been an invalid for more than three years, recently, her condition had greatlly improved and none of her loved ones were prepared to receive the sudden shock coming as it did--- without warning. She had just finished a hearty breakfast and appeared to be unusually bright for one of her condition, when suddenly she was seized with a effection of the heart and before relief could be given she was dead. Mrs. DeVane lived an honorable, pure, christian life of more than fifty years, having been a consistent member of the methodist church since her early girl-hood. She leaves a husband and a large family of children who will greatly miss the sweet influence of wife and mother. In the presence of a large number of relatives and friends she was laid to rest at the Hopewell cemetery, Tuesday morning a very beautiful and appropriated service being performed by Rev. R.F. Williamson. Note-- Polly Ann Wall DeVane was born June 3, 1844 and died October 23, 1905. She was the daughter of Austin Warren and Cinderella Wall.
