DEATH OF MR. J.R. GREEN
Last rites were held here Sunday morning at 11:30 o'clock for Mr. J.R. Green, 
age 80, prominent planter of Sumter county, who died at his home on the Plains-
Americus highway last Thursday.  Mr. Green was a native of macon county, but 
had resided in Sumter county for the past twenty years.  Ten years ago he was 
married to Miss Ida Jordan, the daughter of the late henry Jordan, pioneer 
resident of Schley county.  He was a member of the Sumter Primitive Baptist 
church.  Besides his wife, Mrs. Ida Jordan Green, he is survived by five sons 
and three daughters.
