GRUNDY, BESSIE L
Ms Bessie L Grundy was born December 29, 1926 in Ellaville, Schley County, GA 
to Claudie and Lovie Ruth Major Grundy.  She was a member of Cedar Creek 
Baptist Church.  She attended public schools in Ellaville, GA and pursued a 
trade in cosmetology.  She was married to Raymond and later moved to New York, 
NY and met Herbert Bryant.  They had a son Bryan Kevin Bryant (deceased).  She 
was a retired US Postal employee.  She died Friday, July 26, 1996 in 
Philadelphia, PA.
Funeral was conducted Wednesday, July 31, 1996 at the chapel of Claude J Edney 
Funeral Home; Reverend Curtis Miller officiated.  Burial  at Mt Lawn  
Cemetery  Darby Township, PA.  Nephews served as pallbearers.

Juanita Grundy and Vernice Grundy Sales of Philadelphia, PA; 4 nieces, Ella 
Ruth Blue (Walter) King of Ellaville, GA, Mary Clifford Blue (Phillip) Perry 
of Ellaville, GA, Yvonne Blue (Richard) Brown of Mauk, GA, Wanda Sales of 
Coatesville, PA.  4 nephews, Maud (Mary Holt) Blue of Swedesboro, NJ, Claude 
Blue of Columbus, GA, Ralph (Gloria Slaughter) Blue of Buena Vista, GA and 
Major (Daphne Bowman) Blue of Columbus, GA.  Claude J. Edney Funeral Home, 
Darby Township, PA.

GRUNDY, CHESTERFIELD
Mr. Grundy was born October 7, 1901 in Ellaville, GA to William A and Ada 
Grundy.  He was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Ellaville, GA.  
He married Inez Harmon of Oglethorpe, GA in 1924 and they moved to Akron, OH.  
They had 6 children.  There they joined th Shiloh Baptist Church.  He retired 
from Goodyear Aircraft in 1966.  He died on a Sunday morning May 31, 1976,  
only a few steps from the church.  Funeral was held  Friday, June 4, 1976; 
Pastor Reverend Harold Hopkins officiated.  Survivors include: 2 sons, William 
and Alton Grundy of Akron, OH; 3 daughters, Mrs. Christine Mobley of Akron, 
OH, Mrs. Mardis Strong of Long Beach, CA, and Idalene Dove of Akron, OH; a 
brother, Mr. Clinton Grundy of Linden, NJ and four sisters: Mrs. Lorene Blount 
of East Orange, NJ, Prs. Piccola Collins and Mrs. Lovie Wilson, both of Akron, 
OH, and Mrs. Thelma Edge of Newark, NJ; 6 grandchildren and 2 great 
grandchildren.
