SON AND SISTER OF MRS. J.C. HALLEY ARE BURIED THURSDAY; AGED FATHER NEAR DEATH
Death struck twice almost at the same hour Tuesday night in the family of Mrs. 
J.C. Halley of Buena Vista and was poised for a third blow Thursday as her 
aged father lay near death in Montezuma while funeral services were being held 
in Reynolds for her son and in Albany for her sister.  Her son, A.M. Halley, 
43, prominent Reynolds farmer and fertilizer manufacturer, who apparently had 
been in good health, died of a heart attack at his home Tuesday night about 
7:30 o'clock shortly after returning from a trip to Macon.  The funeral was 
conducted at the Methodist church there Thursday morning.  His 15-year-old 
daughter, Ann, who has gained many honors as a pianist, played during the 
service.  Her sister, Mrs. G.O. Garrett, 49, died unexpectedly in Albany 
Tuesday night about 7 o'clock, several minutes after she was seized with acute 
indigestion.  The funeral was held in the chapel of Albany Undertaking company 
Thursday morning.  Her aged father, Mr. Wood Fouche, became desperately ill 
Sunday night and was carried to a Montezuma hospital Monday, where his 
condition remained critical yesterday.  Mr. Halley was the brother of Mrs. 
E.C. Rigsby of Ellaville and his widow is the former Miss Eva Gill of Butler, 
sister of Dr. Paul Gill and Julian Gill, both of Ellaville.  William Halley of 
Buena Vista, is his brother.
