Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 15 at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Ellaville cemetery, Reverend Andy Taunton officiated. Mrs. Harris was born April 18, 1925 in Harris County, the daughter of Willie C. and Jewel Anderson Williams. She was retired from Schley County Sheriff's Office after 16 years of service and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Harry Harris. Survivors included two daughters and sons in law, Sharon and Steve Wall of Ellaville, Ga., Jeanette and Bennie Crook of Reynolds, Ga.; three sons and one daughter in law-Walter and Brenda Taylor of Social Circle, Ga., Steve Harris of Sarasota, Fla., Wayne Taylor of Ellaville, Ga. and one brother Eugene Williams of Orlando, Fla. and three sisters-Jessie Brown of Manchester, Ga., Imogene Brown of Dunnellon, Fla., and Mary Ernest of Carrolton, Ga. Nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers included Wayne Taylor, Steve Harris, Bennie Crook, Walter Taylor, Steve Wall and Richard Brown. Honorary pallbearers were the granchildren and the Ebenezer Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class. Visitation was held Monday, November 14 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Watson Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund.
