E. H. HORNADY IS LAID TO REST
Funeral services for Ed Hornady, 80, prominent retired traveling salesman who 
died Wednesday after a lingering illness, were held from his home, Oakdale 
Farm in Andrew Chapel community, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.

Mr. Hornady passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at 11:30 o'clock with his 
wife at his bedside.  In feeble health for several years, he had been confined 
to bed for the past two months.

The Rev. W.S. Johnson conducted the funeral and burial was in Ellaville 
cemetery.

Born in Americus in February, 1859, Mr. Hornady was the son of Sarah Greene 
Hornady and Dr. Albert Hornady, outstanding citizens there.  He married Miss 
Margaret Drane of Buena Vista on January 1, 1896, at a ceremony performed in 
Columbus.  Upon his retirement several years ago he moved to his home in 
Schley county.  One of his greatest pleasures was the frequent visits of 
friends he knew while traveling a wide territory in the south.

A lifelong member of the Methodist church, he transferred his membership to 
Andrew Chapel church when he came to Schley county to live.

Surviving besides his widow are one daughter, Mrs. J.P. Gilchrest of Americus; 
two sisters, Miss Mary Hornady and Mrs. G.P. DeWolf, of Schley county; five 
grandchildren, Jack, Ed, Gilbert, Billy Drane and Margaret, all of Americus.

Pallbearers were J.H. Holloway, R.S. Greene, C.H. Greene, Cleve Strange, 
Linton Tondee and E.R. Jordan.
