Graveside services are planned for today from the Ellaville Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Graton Helms and the Rev. Clarence Cawthon officiating. Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late Dr. John Newton Cheney and Fannie Foster Cheney. She was an avid member of the Ellaville United Methodist Church. She was president of the W.M.U. many years. She taught Sunday School classes from the Cradle roll through youth groups. She never lacked for good deeds of ways to help others. She established her own kindergarten to give neighborhood children a firm background for school. She gave elocution lessons as well--all free. Mrs. Hill was named Schley County Chairman of the Federal Emergency Relief Association. She taught families how to budget, buy and prepare nourishing food. Working with local doctors, she instigated a screening of all school children for worms following through with prompt treatment. Mrs. Hill will long be remembered by those she helped to get corrective surgery and other medical help. There was no color barrier for those in need. She leaves a rich legacy of happy stories and poetry that she recited to her many friends. Mrs. Hill really lived all of her ninety-four plus years. Survivors include a son, R.
