Hill, 58, Dies Monday; Rites Tuesday. Morris C(rawford) Hill, 58, a leading Schley county farmer and a member of one of this sections most prominent familes, died early Monday at Americus and Sumter County Hospital after an illness of five weeks. Graveside services were held in Ellaville cemetery Tuesday at 11 a.m. Officiating were the Rev. J.F. Snell, Rev. Woodrow Wilson. A native of Schley county, Mr. Hill was a member of the City Council for many years and the local Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Ellaville Methodist Church. Surviving besides his widow are one daughter, Mrs. Paul Lewis, Albany; one son, Bob Hill, Ellaville; one sister, Mrs. Paul Coffin, Ellaville; one brother, O.C. Hill, Ellaville; and one grandson, Paul Christopher Lewis, of Albany. Pallbearers were B.E. Pelham, Paul Gill, Jake Williams, S.T. Barnes, Wilson Tondee, W.H. VanLandingham. Collins Funeral Home was in charge. (Note: Morris Crawford Hill was the son of Robert E. Hill and Viola Turner Hill. He was born March 22, 1896 in Schley county and married Mervin Gwendolyn Johnson June 1, 1922 in Schley Co. He was a veteran of World War I.)
