C.M. JOHNSON RESTS AT HOPEWELL Mr. Charles Madison Johnson, father of Mrs. Charles Heath, Ellaville, was buried at Hopewell Methodist church Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roy J. Bond, pastor, in charge of the service. Mr. Johnson had been in failing health for quite a while before his death Monday, about 1 p.m. He was living in Dooley county at the time of his death, but was a native of Marion county, where he spent the greater portion of his life. He had lived in Schley county also. Mr. Johnson was born January 27, 1879. Survivors include: Mrs. Samantha Lawhorn, mother, of Brewster, Ga.; Mrs. Minnie Johnson, his wife, and four children, as follows: Edwin Johnson, Route 2, Vienna; Mrs. S.A. Law, Sr., Americus; Mrs. J.T. Tyler, Columbus; and Mrs. Charles Heath, Ellaville. Two brothers also survive: Messrs. Emmett and Walter Johnson, both of Brewster, Ga. Only one sister survives him, Mrs. John Hodge, Brewster, Ga. No grandchildren survive. Pallbearers were Mr. J.F. Tyler, Columbus; Messrs. S.A. Law, Sr., S.A. Law, Jr., both of Americus; Mr. Kenneth Law, Americus; Mr. Charles Heath, Ellaville, and Charles Tyler, Columbus. Akin Funeral Home, Vienna was in charge.
