CHARLIE JONES DIES WEDNESDAY ON 71ST BIRTHDAY Sorrowing relatives arranged a funeral for Mr. Charlie Jones, well-known Midway community farmer, Wednesday at the time they had planned to help him celebrate his birthday. Stricken with a heart attack while mending a pasture fence Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Jones died Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock on his 71st birthday. He had been looking forward to a joyful anniversary. The funeral was conducted from the residence Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock and burial was in the family cemetery. A native of Schley county, Mr. Jones had lived his entire life in Midway community. After the death of his first wife, the former Miss Lake Mabry, about 14 years ago, he married Miss Edna Dwight of near Ideal. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist church. Mr. Jones was fond of livestock and frequent deals for more stock was one of his greatest pleasures. Besides his widow, he is survived by one brother, Zach Jones, Doerun; three sisters, Miss Julia Jones and Mrs. John Thompson, both of Moultrie, and Mrs. Brit Jones, Albany.
